LA RIVELAZIONE
25 aprile - 1 maggio
Letture:
Esodo 7:1-6; Salmi 19:1-4; Romani 1:18-20; 2 Timoteo 3:14-16; Ebrei 1:1-3
«Dio,
dopo aver parlato anticamente molte volte e in molte maniere ai padri per mezzo
dei profeti, in questi ultimi giorni ha parlato a noi per mezzo del Figlio, che
egli ha costituito erede di tutte le cose, mediante il quale ha pure creato
l’universo» Ebrei 1:1,2
Per
alcuni, Dio rappresenta un potere distante che in un tempo remoto ha dato
l’impulso al mondo, ma che non interferisce più con gli eventi del pianeta. Non
si tratta certo del Dio descritto nella Bibbia, il quale dimostra profusamente
di essere un Dio d’amore, il Creatore che continua ad avere un profondo
interesse per le sorti delle sue creature. Egli è il Dio del patto, che cerca
di stabilire un legame con gli esseri fatti a sua immagine.
Questo Dio è un grande comunicatore e le parole
umane non riescono a spiegare esaurientemente chi e che cosa sia, ma il dato
che egli parli costantemente al suo popolo è estremamente significativo. Appena
creato Adamo, Dio gli parlò; subito dopo che il primo abitante della terra ebbe
peccato lo chiamò a lui e gli disse: «Dove sei?» (Gn 3:9). E da allora Dio ha
sempre comunicato con gli uomini, in svariati modi (Eb 1:1). Anche l’ultima
pagina della Scrittura conferma quanto appena detto, nell’appello divino: «Lo
Spirito e la sposa dicono: “Vieni”» (Ap 22:17).
Questa settimana analizzeremo i diversi modi scelti
dal Signore per comunicare con noi oggi.
Uno
sguardo alla settimana
Il Dio
che parlò al mondo si rivolge a tutti coloro che vogliono ascoltarlo.
Salmo 19:1-4, Romani 1:18-20. Sono due tra i testi più citati quando è
in discussione il concetto di rivelazione divina attraverso la natura. Riassumi
brevemente l’insegnamento di questi versetti.
«Dio ci
ha posti in mezzo a uno scenario naturale magnifico per suscitare il nostro
interesse. Egli vuole che associamo le meraviglie del creato al suo carattere.
Se studiamo con cura il libro della natura avremo la possibilità di contemplare
la potenza e l’amore infiniti di Dio» - AH, p. 144 [55].
Chi crede nella Bibbia troverà conferma della
convinzione che ammirando il cielo stellato o gli alberi maestosi di una
foresta, ma anche il tramonto del sole dietro le cime innevate dei monti,
osserva l’opera di un creatore potente e pieno d’amore. Quando guarderà
un’aquila in volo, apprezzerà la vista di un tulipano, o si meraviglierà
davanti alla complessità del corpo umano, avrà le prove delle qualità di un Dio
invisibile e concorderà sul fatto che la natura proclami la gloria di Dio.
Ma i passi biblici ci fanno fare un ulteriore salto
in avanti; secondo quanto affermano, anche un non credente, osservando la
natura, riuscirà a intravedere la potenza divina che ha progettato e realizzato
tutto ciò. Nel mondo attuale, non sono poche le persone che chiudono gli occhi
davanti a questo aspetto; permeate dal pensiero evoluzionistico, cercano di
spiegare tutto ciò che esiste in termini di casualità e necessità. Ma,
progressivamente, gli studiosi stanno ammettendo che è talmente evidente la
presenza di un disegno intelligente che può essere ignorata solamente da chi
rifiuta ottusamente di vederla.
Qual è la spiegazione più logica e ragionevole per la bellezza e la
complessità della vita? Il caso o una creazione pianificata e densa di
significato?
Salmo
19:1-4, Romani 1:18-20. Fino a che punto Dio viene rivelato nella natura? Quali
sono le cose riguardanti il Creatore che la natura non ci svela? Quali sono gli
altri aspetti a noi noti di Dio che non si possono cogliere ammirando le glorie
del creato?
La
«coscienza» viene talvolta definita la facoltà, o il principio intrinseco, che
ci aiuta a decidere tra il bene e il male. Anche chi non crede in Dio
generalmente ha in qualche modo l’acume di saper distinguere ciò che è
moralmente accettabile da ciò che va rifiutato (Rm 2:14,15).
Il cristiano crede che Dio sia il legislatore
supremo e che abbia posto nell’uomo una coscienza, anche se il peccato ha poi
reso meno efficace questo strumento donatoci dal Signore per fare delle scelte
eticamente corrette. Nella maggior parte delle traduzioni bibliche non troviamo
la parolacoscienza nell’Antico Testamento, mentre ricorre spesso nel
Nuovo. Che il termine compaia o meno, il concetto è presente oltre ogni
ragionevole dubbio in tutta la Scrittura.
Pensa ad
alcuni episodi biblici dove è evidente l’impatto della coscienza nella vita delle
persone(per es., Genesi 42:18-23, Matteo 27:3-5, Giovanni 8:1-9, Daniele 5)
Per
quanto importante, la nostra coscienza non è sempre completamente affidabile.
Osserviamo infatti che individui coscienziosi spesso giungono a conclusioni
molto diverse sull’opportunità di agire in circostanze particolari.
Paolo ne era ben consapevole, come dimostra la sua
acuta affermazione di 1 Corinzi 4:4: «Infatti non ho coscienza di alcuna colpa;
non per questo però sono giustificato; colui che mi giudica è il Signore».
Lo stesso apostolo avverte però che si può anche
fare resistenza all’influsso della nostra coscienza; per certe persone,
infatti, è come se fosse marchiata a ferro caldo (1 Tm 4:2) o contaminata (Tt
1:15). Esistono però anche dei sistemi per riuscire ad affinarla, per esempio
rimanendo in costante sintonia con Dio con la lettura regolare della sua Parola
e una comunione frequente con lui mediante la preghiera. Questo tipo di
atteggiamento ci renderà più sensibili alla voce dello Spirito, che può
parlarci attraverso la nostra coscienza.
In che
modo giungi a prendere decisioni importanti dal punto di vista morale? Ascolti
la tua coscienza? Come fare a essere certo che quella vocina proveniente dal
tuo intimo non sia cancellata da altre voci presenti dentro e intorno a te?
Come sapere se è il caso o meno di fidarsi della propria coscienza? Qual è
l’ultima volta che ti sei lasciato guidare dalla tua coscienza e ti sei
ritrovato ad aver fatto una scelta eticamente sbagliata?
Diverse
persone hanno una concezione molto limitata del dono di profezia, che viene
visto essenzialmente in termini di predizione, mentre i profeti sarebbero
coloro i quali hanno dato il loro nome a un certo numero di libri della Bibbia.
Le cose non stanno così; il Signore si è servito dei profeti affidando loro un
raggio d’azione molto più ampio di quello che si potrebbe credere. E la
profezia non consiste esclusivamente nell’annunciare degli eventi futuri, ha un
significato ben più vasto.
In che
misura la relazione tra Mosè e suo fratello Aaronne illustra il significato
chiave della parola profeta? Esodo 7:1-6
Questi
passi evidenziano la vera opera di un profeta. Mosè, considerato egli stesso un
grande profeta (Dt 34:10-12), era assistito dal fratello, che faceva da
portavoce. «Mosè è come Dio per Aaronne, il quale è un profeta per il faraone.
L’idea manifesta è che i profeti non confezionano con le proprie mani i loro
discorsi ma semplicemente riferiscono quanto hanno udito da Dio» - Jon Dybdahl, The Abundanto Life Bible Amplifier: Exodus, Pacific

Un
profeta è un uomo o una donna che parla per conto di Dio, le cui parole hanno
autorità perché il messaggio proviene dal Signore, anche se il profeta può
scegliere il linguaggio per veicolare tale messaggio. Il Signore si è affidato
piuttosto regolarmente a questo modo di comunicare, come sottolineò Amos quando
disse: «Poiché il Signore, Dio, non fa nulla senza rivelare il suo segreto ai
suoi servi, i profeti» (Am 3:7).
Cosa dice
la Scrittura a proposito della continuità del dono di profezia oltre l’epoca
dell’Antico Testamento? Osserva i seguenti esempi tratti dal Nuovo Testamento.
Quali sono le tue conclusioni?

2. Dono
durevole (1 Cor 12:28; 14:1-5)
3. Falsi
profeti (2 Pt 2:1; Ap 2:20)
4. Una
caratteristica della chiesa del rimanente (Ap 12:17; 19:10)
Quale
influsso hanno determinato nella tua vita gli scritti di Ellen G. White (che
possedeva il dono di profezia)? In che modo ti ha parlato il Signore attraverso
il suo ministero? Cosa potresti fare per avere miglior giovamento dalle
benedizioni di questo dono?
Molte
delle cose che Dio ha rivelato in passato per mezzo dei suoi profeti non sono
state tramandate e non se ne trova traccia nella Bibbia. Ma alcune di quelle
rivelazioni, ricevute da poche decine di persone in un lasso di tempo di circa
1.500 anni, sono state messe per iscritto. La compilazione di questi testi è la
nostra Bibbia. Gesù e i suoi contemporanei dettero grande valore a quei libri
che oggi chiamiamo Antico Testamento. La Scrittura ora comprende anche i
vangeli e altri libri apostolici che risalgono alle origini della chiesa
cristiana.
Paolo
lodò Timoteo per la sua diligente lettura della Parola di Dio che, disse, è
capace di dare la saggezza che porta alla salvezza. In questo contesto, come
descrive l’apostolo ulteriormente l’influsso della Parola scritta di Dio? 2
Timoteo 3:14-16
«Mentre
contempliamo le grandi cose della Parola di Dio, guardiamo dentro a una fontana
che si allarga e diventa sempre più profonda sotto il nostro sguardo fisso. La
sua larghezza e la sua profondità vanno oltre la nostra conoscenza; mentre la
rimiriamo, la visione si amplia; si stende davanti ai nostri occhi e
contempliamo un mare senza confini e senza riva. Tale studio ha un potere
rivitalizzante, la mente e il cuore acquisiscono nuova energia, nuova vita.
Questa esperienza è la prova suprema dall’autorità divina della Bibbia.
Riceviamo la Parola di Dio come fosse cibo per l’anima, analogamente al pane
che riceviamo quale nutrimento per il nostro corpo» -MLT, p. 26.
La
vendita di Bibbie oggi ha numeri superiori a quelli di qualsiasi altra epoca.
In commercio continuano ad apparire nuove versioni pensate per gruppi di
riferimento ben precisi; ce ne solo alcune che sono più accessibili ai neofiti,
e altre che invece meglio si prestano a un uso liturgico. Si tratta sicuramente
di un dato positivo, ma che non coincide necessariamente con una più diffusa
lettura della stessa. Ci sono infatti indicatori secondo i quali nel mondo
cristiano, avventisti compresi, lo studio della Bibbia sarebbe in declino.
Oggi, molti non conoscono la propria Bibbia approfonditamente come accadeva
invece nella generazione che ci ha preceduto. Ma ci assumiamo un rischio eterno
se decidiamo di ignorare la Parola di Dio, che ha il potere di parlarci sempre
come fosse una novità ogni volta che l’apriamo.
Quanto
tempo hai dedicato la settimana scorsa alla lettura della Bibbia? E il mese
passato? La lettura della Bibbia ha un ruolo di spicco nella tua agenda
quotidiana? Paragona il tempo passato a guardate la televisione con quello
dedicato alla lettura della Bibbia. È arrivato il momento di fare dei
cambiamenti?
Ricevere
regolarmente delle lettere da una persona può essere in prospettiva un percorso
per conoscere più intimamente quell’individuo. Se riceviamo anche una foto, ci
sarà svelata un’altra dimensione di quella persona. Ma non potremo mai dire di
conoscerla davvero fino a quando non avremo passato del tempo faccia a faccia.
Per colpa del peccato, Dio non ha più potuto essere
unito a noi come accadeva con Adamo ed Eva nel giardino dell’Eden. Nonostante
abbia comunicato con l’uomo in vari modi, tutti efficaci, voleva donarci un
quadro più completo di se stesso. E ha trovato il modo di farlo attraverso
Gesù.
In che
modo Dio ci ha messo a disposizione questa piena rivelazione di se stesso?
Giovanni 1:1,2; 14:9; Ebrei 1:1-3
L’analisi
precisa delle parole di Giovanni 1:1 è importante: Giovanni non dice che Dio ha
mostrato se stesso nella carne, o è apparso in carne; piuttosto, afferma che
Gesù è diventato carne in un momento definito della storia. Egli è sceso
dall’alto ed è diventato come un uomo, ossia si è rivestito della nostra
umanità. Il fatto che Gesù Cristo, nostro Signore, il figlio eterno di Dio, si
sia fatto uomo per la nostra salvezza resta probabilmente il dogma per
eccellenza della fede cristiana, basilare per ogni denominazione.
Qual è la
relazione tra la rivelazione di Dio nella Scrittura e quella in Gesù Cristo?
Giovanni 5:36-40
Qualcuno
concepisce lo studio della Bibbia come un fine. In realtà, esistono molti
studiosi biblici estremamente dotati che non credono affatto in Dio. Ma leggere
il testo sacro senza cercare di conoscere il Signore in esso rivelato, equivale
a sperare che la lettura di una ricetta sazi lo stomaco.
Gesù Cristo è il nucleo centrale della Scrittura;
la Bibbia parla di lui, di quello che ci ha rivelato in merito alla natura e al
carattere di Dio. La Parola non ci salva, ma è la fonte autorevole della verità
che rimanda all’unico in gradi di farlo, Gesù di Nazaret.
Un conto
è leggere la Bibbia, un altro è conoscerla; e un altro ancora recitare versetti
a memoria. Conosci il Signore in essa rivelato? In che modo si può leggere la
Bibbia e allontanarsi da una conoscenza più approfondita di Dio?
«Sono
molti i canali di cui Dio si serve per rivelarsi all’uomo e per indurlo a
mettersi in contatto con lui. La natura è uno di questi; essa ci invia
continuamente messaggi d’amore e di gloria che ogni persona sensibile sa
scorgere. Il verde dei campi, i grandi alberi, le gemme e i fiori, le nuvole
leggere, la pioggia, il gorgoglio dei ruscelli, le bellezze dell’universo
parlano al nostro cuore e ci invitano a riconoscere colui che ha creato tutte
queste meraviglie» SC, p. 85 [75].
Domande
per la discussione
1. Fino a
che punto la natura ci aiuta a scoprire Dio? Ci insegna qualcosa sul Signore
della Bibbia, oppure semplicemente ci convince che deve esserci qualcosa o
qualcuno dietro essa?
2.
Discutere nella classe l’importanza di seguire la propria coscienza. Parlare
anche dei pericoli che la cosa comporta. In che modo possiamo aiutare altre
persone a sapere se e quando possono fidarsi dei suggerimenti della loro
coscienza?
3. Quale
ruolo hanno la cultura e l’educazione nella formazione della coscienza? In che
misura il tuo contesto culturale ha condizionato la tua idea di giusto e
sbagliato? Come fare a superare i condizionamenti culturali quando è
necessario, vale a dire quando ti insegnano qualcosa di palesemente contrario
all’insegnamento della Parola di Dio?
4. Se il
dono di profezia è un dono spirituale per la chiesa di Dio, dobbiamo aspettarci
che svolga una parte importante nei nostri tempi e che magari il Signore susciti
altri profeti, analogamente a quanto fatto con Ellen G. White più di un secolo
fa?
In
sintesi
Dio
desidera comunicare con noi. Lo fa attraverso la natura e parlando alla nostra
coscienza. Nel corso delle varie epoche si è servito dei profeti e ha reso il
dono profetico sempre fruibile, anche alla chiesa presente. La Bibbia, Parola
scritta del Signore, rimane la guida divina per eccellenza del nostro
pellegrinaggio. La sua attenzione è tutta rivolta a mostrare quello che Dio ha
fatto per noi, in particolare con la sua sublime comparsa in questo mondo nella
persona del Figlio, cosa testimoniata da tutta la Scrittura.

можно считать следующие: Какой у нас есть Бог? Решил ли Он поговорить с людьми
и рассказать им о Себе? Как мы можем найти Его вест? Давайте погрузимся в наше
исследование Библии и посмотрим, какой ответ она даст на все эти вопросы!
I. Некоторые вещи просто очевидны!
A. Прочитайте Римлянам 1:18-19. Когда текст
начинается со слов «гнев Божий» я невольно пригибаюсь! Серьезно, почему тут Бог
гневается? (Бог рассержена на тех, которые прячут Его истину. Павел мог бы
упомянуть об одной из двух вещей: 1) Нечестивцы отрицают Бога потому, что их
злые дела склоняют их скрывать истину о боге. Или 2) Те, кто отрицает
существование Бога, делают это, потому что они злы.)
Б. Прочитайте Рим. 1:20. Почему
нечестивцы так явно неправы относительно Бога? (Существование Бога очевидно,
исходя из того, что Он сотворил.)

Согласитесь
ли вы с тем, что творение открывает Бога? (В прошедшую субботу я смотрел
замечательный фильм, касающийся этой самой темы. Фильм называется «Как велик
наш Бог», ведущий Луис Гиглио. Некоторые части вы сможете найти на YouTube (www.youtube.com/watch?v=_82lZ2PpYQE&feature=related).
2. Заметьте, что Павел
также говорит «поэтому неверующим нет извинения» (Современный перевод,
Международное Библейское Общество). Извинения за что? Веры в Бога или веры в
то, что у Бога есть весть для нас? (Слова Павла относительно Божьего творения
оспаривают то, что природа передает нам какую-либо другую весть.)
В. Прочитайте Рим. 1:21-23. Какова
первая моральная истина, которую мы можем узнать из творения? (То, что если
есть Творец Бог, мы должны прославлять Его и благодарить за творение. Из этого
логически следует то, что мы не должны поклоняться изображению чего-то сотворенного,
но вместо этого Самому Творцу.)
Г. Давайте пропустим несколько
текстов рассуждений Павла, чтобы увидеть, как он дальше развивает эту идею.
Прочитайте Рим. 1:26-27. Что имеет в виду Павел под «естественным употреблением»?
(То, что предполагается природой, как мы были сотворены.)
1. Чему творение может
научить нас о том, что гомосексуальные отношения неверны? (Я слушал пылкие
просьбы пожертвовать деньги на то, чтобы улучшить природу, чтобы северные
медведи не вымерли. Я могу логически предположить, что одним из «природных»
предложений полярным медведям состояло бы в том, чтобы они избегали
гомосексуальности. Конечно, собирающие средства ни о чем подобном и не думали.
Но, я верю в то, что вы поняли о чем говорит Павел в «естественных
употреблениях».)
II. Ораторы!
А. Прочитайте Евр. 1:1. Как,
согласно этого текста, Бог общается с людьми? (Через пророков.)
1. Заметьте переход.
Павел говорит о том, что нам надо смотреть вокруг и искать вести от Бога. В
послании Евреям рассказывает нам, что Бог говорит через пророков. Аргумент о
творении очевиден. Какие очевидные причины у нас есть, чтобы верить пророкам и
в то, что они действительно говорят от Бога? (Две причины. Первая, если
творение является доказательством существования Творца, не правда ли, логично,
что Творец захочет связаться с нами? Второе, вести пророков согласуются друг с
другом. Если брать во внимание самозванцев, которые заявляли, что пришли от
Бога, то можно предположить, что у них будет столько же вестей, что и их. Согласованность
вести предполагает единый источник.)
Б. Прочитайте Евр. 1:2-3. Почему мы
должны верить в то, что Иисус – Бог? (Первое, Иисус заявлял, что Он – Бог (Мф.
26:63-64; Ин. 12:44-46). Второе, Его воскрешение было непохоже на действие
человека или другой какой-то личности. Это явно Божье деяние.)
1. Какую весть от Бога
мы получили через Иисуса? (Иисус говорит, что если мы знаем Его, то знаем и
Отца. Ин. 8:19. Если изучать жизнь, мы поймем природу Бога.)
III. Искать!
А. Прочитайте Евр. 4:12-13. Сколько
из вас может описать Библию, как «живую и действенную», а не «пылесборником»?
1. Заметьте «судит
помышления и намерения сердечные». Наша тема сосредоточена на вопросе открывает
ли нам Бог что-то о Себе. Какую роль предоставляется здесь Библии в откровении?
(У всех из нас есть мысли и намерения о том, как нам стоит жить и относиться к
другим. Библия проверяет эти мысли и намерения соотнося их с Божьими
стандартами поведения.)
2. Вы когда-нибудь
говорили: «Я хочу, чтобы Бог открыл мне Свою волю» на что-то интересующее вас в
данный момент?
а) Если ответ
«да», искали ли вы в Библии то, что Бог говорит по этому вопросу? Если нет, а
действительно ли вы хотели узнать Божью волю?
Б. Прочитайте 2 Тим. 3:16-17. Кто
является источником Библии? (Бог.)
1. Какую роль может играть
Библия в раскрытии Божьей воли относительно вашей жизни? (Фраза «для научения,
для обличения, для исправления, для наставления…», как мне кажется, покрывает
все жизненные аспекты.)
IV. Слушать!
А. Прочитайте Ин. 16:7-9. Кто такой
«Утешитель»? (Дух Святой.)
1. Беспокоят ли Ивана
Михайловича (того, кто не верит в Бога) его грехи? (Отметьте то, что в 9-ом
тексте говорится, что Дух Святой даже атеистов обличает о грехе! (Или, по
крайней мере тех, кто не верит в Иисуса.))
Б. Прочитайте Ин. 16:10-11. Были ли
вы обличаемы в прошлом за ваши грехи? Было ли у вас чувство вины в прошлом о
том, что вам что-то надо делать с грехами?
1. Если вы ответили «да»
на один из этих вопросов, не является ли это еще одним доказательством того,
что Бог существует и, что Он активно вовлечен в общение с людьми?
2. Еще одна проблема
встает перед эволюционистами. Почему у нас в процессе эволюции выработалась
совесть? Почему эта «куча мяса», которая контролирует функции тела должна была
иметь какие-либо другие мысли кроме тех, которые касаются выживания?
А) В чем
источник нашей совести? Если это не появилось в результате эволюции, тогда это
должно отражать силы вне человека, не правда ли?
В. Прочитайте 1 Тим. 4:1-4. Может ли
у нас быть сожженная совесть? Совесть, которая бы отговаривала нас делать то,
что приемлемо для нас?
1. Как можно отличить
наши собственные мысли от слов Духа Святого, обращенных к нам?
2. Как можно нам
отличить слова «духов обольстителей и учения бесовские» от Духа Святого,
говорящего нам?
Г. Прочитайте Мф. 12:31-32. Что
такое хула на Духа Святого? Есть ли в этом нечто то, что смешивает вести Духа
Святого с нашими собственными мыслями и представлениями или демоническими
искушениями? (Чтобы разобраться в этом, надо рассмотреть контекст.)
Д. Прочитайте Мф. 12:22-24. О чем
Иисус говорит, когда ссылается на хулу на Духа Святого? (Иисус предупреждает тех,
кто дела Духа Святого считает делами сатаны.)
1. Почему это
непростительный грех? Почему сказать плохое относительно одной части Троицы
хуже, чем другой?
Е. Прочитайте 1 Цар. 3:12-14. Бог
дает весть через Самуила первосвященнику Илие о его сыновьях. Не является ли
это еще одним примером непростительного греха? Если так, то как много
существует непростительных грехов? (Я думаю, что нет как таковых непростительных
грехов. Вспомните то, что сыновья Илии отвечали за ту часть служения во
святилище, которое относилось к прощению грехов. Они держались за рычаги
процесса прощения грехов. И так как они нарушили процесс, они не могут быть
прощены. Подобная же идея и с «огорчением» Духа Святого. Важной частью процесса
прощения греха является наше сожаление о грехе. Поэтому, если мы отвергаем Духа
Святого, мы нарушаем процесс прощения греха.)
Ж. Прочитайте Тит. 1:15-16. Если вы
повредили ваши совесть, не попадаете ли вы в место, где на практике, ваш грех
не сможет быть прощен, потому что вы нарушили этот процесс?
З. Убедившись в том, что мы можем

: Est-ce
raisonnable de penser que quelque chose de très complexe, telle que l’univers
ou telle que vous, soit apparue par accident ? N’est-il pas plus
raisonnable de croire que les Jaguars (les voitures) sont construites par des
chimpanzés (les animaux) plutôt que de croire que l’univers est apparu par
hasard ? Les questions les plus raisonnables sont les suivantes :
Quelle sorte de Dieu avons-nous ? A-t-il décidé de parler aux humains et
de se dévoiler à eux ? Comment pouvons-nous trouver ses messages ?
Ouvrons la Bible et découvrons ce qu’elle révèle à propos de ces
questions !
I. Certaines
choses sont simplement évidentes !
1. Lisez
Romains 1:18-19. Lorsqu’un texte commence avec la "colère de Dieu",
je baisse la tête involontairement ! Plus sérieusement, qu’est-ce qui
rend Dieu en colère ici ? (Dieu est fâché contre ceux qui cachent sa
vérité. Paul pourrait dire l’une des deux choses suivantes : (1) Les
méchants renient Dieu parce que leurs actions tendent à cacher la vérité sur
Dieu ; (2) Ceux qui renient l’existence de Dieu le font parce qu’ils
sont mauvais.)
2. Lisez
Romains 1:20. Pourquoi les méchants se trompent-ils de façon si évidente sur
Dieu ? (L’existence de Dieu est claire en considérant ce qu’il a créé.)
a. Êtes-vous
d’accord que la création révèle Dieu ? (Samedi dernier j’ai vu un très
beau film sur ce sujet. Le narrateur est Louis
Giglio et le film est intitulé "How Great is Our God" (Comme
notre Dieu est grand). Vous

b. Notez
que Paul dit également que les humains sont "inexcusables".
Inexcusables de quoi ? De croire en Dieu ou de croire que Dieu a un
message pour nous ? (La référence de Paul à la "divinité"
(nature divine) signifie que la nature communique un message moral.)
3. Lisez
Romains 1:21-23. Quelle est la première vérité morale que nous pouvons
apprendre de la création ? (Dès lors qu’il y a un Dieu Créateur, nous
devons lui rendre gloire et le remercier pour la création. En conséquence
s’ajoute logiquement le fait que nous ne devons pas adorer une image ou quoi
que ce soit qui a été créé, mais nous devons plutôt adorer le Créateur
lui-même.)
4. Sautons
quelques versets dans l’argumentation de Paul et voyons comment il applique
cette idée. Lisez Romains 1:26-27. Que veut dire Paul en parlant de
"relations naturelles" ? (Ce qui est implicite par la nature
dont nous avons été créés.)
a. De
quelle façon la nature nous enseigne-t-elle que la pratique homosexuelle est
fausse ? (J’ai entendu un plaidoyer passionné pour obtenir de l’argent
pour résoudre les problèmes d’environnement, afin que les ours polaires ne
disparaissent pas. Je suppose, en toute logique, que l’une des
"solutions environnementales" serait de dire aux ours polaires
d’éviter l’homosexualité. Bien sûr, ceux qui réclamaient de l’argent
n’avaient rien de tel à l’esprit. Mais je suppose que vous avez compris ce
dont Paul veut dire en parlant de "relations naturelles".)
II. Les
porte-parole !
1. Lisez
Hébreux 1:1. Selon ce verset, comment Dieu communique-t-il aux humains ?
(Par
l’intermédiaire de ses prophètes.)
a. Notez
le changement ici. Paul nous dit de regarder autour de nous et de trouver les
messages de Dieu. Le texte d’Hébreux nous dit que Dieu parle par
l’intermédiaire des prophètes. L’argument de la création est évident. Quelle
raison "évidente" avons-nous de croire que les prophètes parlaient
réellement pour Dieu ? (Il y a deux éléments. Premièrement, si la
création est la preuve d’un Créateur, n’est-il pas logique que le Créateur
désire communiquer avec nous ? Deuxièmement, les messages des prophètes
sont cohérents. Si un groupe d’égoïstes au cours des siècles avait revendiqué
à tort de parler pour Dieu, il est aisé d’imaginer que nous aurions autant de
messages différents que de messagers. Une
cohérence entre les messages suggère une source commune.)
2. Lisez
Hébreux 1:2-3. Pour
quelle raison devrions-nous croire que Jésus est Dieu ? (Premièrement,
Jésus a revendiqué être Dieu (Matthieu 26:63-64 ; Jean 12:44-46).
Deuxièmement, sa résurrection ne ressemble à rien qui relève d’une autorité
ou d’une puissance humaine. Il s’agit clairement de quelque chose de divin.)
a. Quel
message de Dieu recevons-nous de la part de Jésus ? (Jésus dit que si
nous le connaissons, nous connaissons le Père (Jean 8:19). Si nous étudions
la vie de Jésus, nous connaissons la nature de Dieu.)
III. Regardez !
1. Lisez
Hébreux 4:12-13. Combien d’entre vous peuvent définir les Bibles de votre
maison comme "vivantes et agissantes", par opposition à
"accumulatrices de poussière" ?
a. Notez
l’expression "elle est juge des sentiments et des pensées du cœur".
Notre
sujet est de savoir si Dieu s’est révélé à nous. Selon
ce texte, quel rôle joue la Bible dans la révélation ? (Chacun d’entre
nous a des pensées et des attitudes sur la façon dont nous devrions vivre et
traiter les autres. La
Bible évalue ces pensées et attitudes selon la norme de conduite de Dieu.)
b. N’avez-vous
jamais dit "j’aimerais que Dieu me révèle sa volonté" pour savoir
ce qui est le plus intéressant pour vous à un moment donné ?
i. Si
votre réponse est positive, avez-vous regardé dans la Bible ce que dit Dieu à
ce sujet ? Si tel n’était pas le cas, vouliez-vous vraiment connaître la
volonté de Dieu ?
2. Lisez
2 Timothée 3:16-17. Quelle est la source de la Bible ? (Dieu.)
a. Quel
rôle peut jouer la Bible dans la révélation de la volonté de Dieu pour votre
vie ? (La phrase "pour enseigner, pour réfuter, pour redresser,
pour éduquer" semble couvrir tous les aspects de la vie.)
IV. Écoutez !
1. Lisez
Jean 16:7-9. Qui est le "Défenseur" ? (L’Esprit saint.)
a. Richard
Dawkins (quelqu’un qui ne croit pas en Dieu) est-il préoccupé par ses
péchés ? (Notez que le verset 9 dit que l’Esprit saint convainc de péché
même les athées ! (Ou au moins ceux qui ne croient pas en Jésus).)
2. Lisez
Jean 16:10-11. Dans le passé, avez-vous déjà été convaincu de vos
péchés ? Dans le passé, avez-vous déjà été convaincu de ce que vous
deviez faire au sujet de vos péchés ?
a. Si
vous répondez par l’affirmative à l’une de ces questions, s’agit-il d’une
preuve additionnelle que Dieu existe est qu’il est activement impliqué dans
la communication aux humains ?
b. Voici
un nouveau problème pour les évolutionnistes. Pourquoi développerions-nous
une conscience ? Pourquoi ce "morceau de viande" qui contrôle
les fonctions du corps aurait-il des pensées plus développées que ce qui est
nécessaire pour survivre ?
i. Quelle
est la source de notre conscience ? Si elle n’est pas le fruit d’une
évolution, alors elle doit refléter une puissance au-delà de l’humain,

conscience qui nous dit de ne pas faire certaines choses qu’il est tout à
fait acceptable de faire ?
a. Comment
pouvons-nous faire la distinction entre nos propres pensées et l’Esprit saint
qui nous parle ?

pouvons-nous faire la distinction entre d’un côté "les esprits
d’égarements et les enseignements de démons" et d’un autre côté l’Esprit
saint qui nous parle ?
4. Lisez
Matthieu 12:31-32. Qu’est-ce que le blasphème contre l’Esprit saint ?
A-t-il une quelconque relation avec le fait de confondre le message de
l’Esprit saint avec notre propre pensée ou avec une tentation
démoniaque ? (Pour
aider à répondre à cette question, nous devons regarder au contexte.)
5. Lisez
Matthieu 12:22-24. À quoi Jésus faisait-il référence en mentionnant le fait
de parler contre l’Esprit saint ? (Jésus met en garde ceux qui
attribuent l’œuvre de l’Esprit saint à l’œuvre de Satan.)
a. Pourquoi
cela serait-il un péché impardonnable ? Pourquoi le fait de dire des
choses négatives sur l’une des personnes de la Trinité serait-il pire que de

6. Lisez
1 Samuel 3:12-14. Dieu donne par l’intermédiaire de Samuel un message au
grand prêtre Éli au sujet de ses fils, les prêtres. S’agit-il d’un autre
exemple de péché impardonnable ? Si tel est le cas, combien de péchés
impardonnables existe-t-il ? (Je ne pense pas qu’il existe
intrinsèquement des péchés impardonnables. Rappelez-vous que les fils d’Éli
étaient en charge de la procédure du sanctuaire pour le pardon des péchés.
Ils tenaient le levier du processus de pardon des péchés. Dès lors qu’ils
avaient corrompu le processus, ils ne pouvaient pas être pardonnés. Il existe la même idée dans le fait "d’attrister" l’Esprit
saint. Il s’agit d’une part essentielle du processus de pardon des péchés -
il nous convainc du péché. Ainsi, si nous rejetons l’Esprit saint nous
corrompons le processus pour le pardon des péchés.)
7. Lisez
Tite 1:15-16. Si vous corrompez votre conscience, vous trouvez-vous à un
endroit où, d’une façon pratique, votre péché ne peut pas être pardonné parce
que vous avez corrompu le processus ?
8. Maintenant
que nous avons établi que nous pouvons corrompre l’œuvre de l’Esprit saint,
revenons à notre problème non résolu, à savoir la distinction entre les
messages de l’Esprit saint à notre conscience et les autres messages. (Lisez à nouveau Jean 16:15. L’Esprit saint tient ses messages de
Dieu. Ainsi,
les messages de l’Esprit saint doivent être cohérents avec les autres
messages révélés par Dieu - au travers de la Bible, des vrais prophètes et de
la nature.)
9. Quel
est votre niveau de vigilance aux messages de l’Esprit saint ?
Pouvez-vous les entendre clairement ? Ou alors, les messages sont-ils à
peine discernables ?
10. Cher
ami, nous avons un Dieu qui veut nous communiquer sa volonté. Voulez-vous
regarder à ses messages et y conformer votre vie ? Voulez-vous écouter
l’Esprit saint et être ouvert à sa guidance ?

Lesson 5 – Revelation - (Romans 1,
Hebrews 1 & 4, John 16)
Introduction:
Does it seem reasonable that anything as complex as the universe, or even as
complex as you, came about by accident? Isn't it more reasonable to believe
that Jaguars (the car) are assembled by chimpanzees(the animal), then to
believe the universe came about by chance? The more reasonable questions are
these: What kind of a God do we have? Has He decided to talk to humans and tell
them about Himself? How can we find His messages? Let's dive into our study of
the Bible and see what it reveals about all of these questions!
- Some Things Are Just
Obvious!
- Read Romans 1:18-19. Whenever a text
starts out with the "wrath of God" I involuntarily duck!
Seriously, what is God upset about here? (God is angry with those who
hide His truth. Paul could be saying one of two things: 1)The wicked deny
God because their wicked deeds tend to hide the truth about God; or, 2)
Those who deny the existence of God do so because they are wicked.)
- Read Romans 1:20. Why are the wicked
so obviously wrong about God? (The existence of God is plain from what He
has created.)
- Do you agree that
the creation reveals God? (Last Sabbath I saw a fabulous film on this
very subject. The speaker is Louis Giglio and the film is entitled
"How Great is Our God." You can find the first of several
parts on YouTube:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_82lZ2PpYQE&feature=related
- Notice that Paul
also says "so that men are without excuse." Excuse for what?
Believing in God, or believing that God has some message for us? (Paul's
reference to God's "divine nature" argues that nature
communicates some moral message.)
- Read Romans 1:21-23. What is the first
moral truth we can learn from the creation? (That since there is a
Creator God, we should glorify Him and thank Him for the creation. From
that logically follows that we would not worship an image of something
created, but rather we should worship the Creator Himself.)
- Let's skip down a few
verses in Paul's argument to see how he further applies this idea. Read Romans 1:26-27. What does Paul mean
by "natural relations?" (What is implied by the nature of how
we were created.)
- How does the
creation teach us that homosexual practice is wrong? (I listened to an
impassioned plea for money to help fix the environment so that polar
bears do not become extinct. I would guess, logically, that one of the
"environmental" issues is to tell polar bears to avoid
homosexuality. Of course, the money-raisers had nothing of the sort in
mind. But, I trust you get Paul's point about "natural
relations.")
- Spokespersons!
- Read Hebrews 1:1. How does this text
say that God communicates to humans? (Through
His prophets.)
- Notice the switch
here. Paul tells us to look around and find messages from God. Hebrews
tells us that God spoke through prophets. The creation argument is
obvious. What "obvious" reason have we to believe that
prophets were actually speaking for God? (Two things. First, if the creation
is proof of a Creator, isn't it logical that the Creator would want to
communicate with us? Second, the messages of the prophets are
consistent. If a bunch of egotists over the centuries falsely claimed to
speak for God, you would expect them to have as many messages as there
were messengers. A consistent message suggests a common
source.)
- Read Hebrews 1:2-3. Why should we
believe Jesus is God? (First, Jesus claimed to be God ( Matthew 26:63-64; John 12:44-46).
Second, His resurrection was unlike anything within human power or
authority. This is clearly "God" stuff.)
- What message from
God did we receive through Jesus? (Jesus says that if you know Me you
know the Father. John 8:19. If we study Jesus'
life, we understand the nature of God.)
- Look It Up!
- Read Hebrews 4:12-13. How many of you can
describe the Bibles in your home as "living and active" as
opposed to "dust collectors?"
- Notice the language
"it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." Our topic
is whether God reveals Himself to us. What role does this suggest the
Bible plays in this revelation? (All of us have thoughts and attitudes
about how we should live and treat others. The Bible tests these
thoughts and attitudes against God's standard of conduct.)
- Have you ever said,
"I wish that God would reveal His will to me" on whatever is
of most interest to you at the moment?
- If the answer is
"Yes," have you looked up what God said on the topic in the
Bible? If not, did you really want to know God's will?
- Read 2 Timothy 3:16-17. What is the source
of the Bible? (God.)
- What role can the
Bible play in revealing God's will for our life? (The phrase
"teaching, rebuking, correcting and training" seems to cover
all aspects of life.)
- Listen!
- Read John 16:7-9. Who is the
"Counselor?" (The
Holy Spirit.)
- Is Richard Dawkins
(someone who does not believe in God) troubled about his sins? (Notice
that verse 9 says that the Holy Spirit convicts even atheists of sin!
(Or at least those who do not believe in Jesus.))
- Read John 16:10-11. Have you been
convicted in the past about your sins? Have you been convicted in the
past about what you should do about your sins?
- If you answered
"Yes," to either of these, is this additional proof that God
exists and that He is actively involved in communicating with humans?
- This is another
problem facing evolutionists. Why would we evolve a conscience? Why
would this "pile of meat" that controls the functions of the
body have any thoughts beyond what is necessary to survive?
- What is the source
of our conscience? If we did not evolve it, then it must reflect powers
beyond the human, right?
- Read 1 Timothy 4:1-4. Can we have a
malformed conscience? A conscience which tells us not to do things that
are perfectly acceptable to do?
- How can you
distinguish between your own thoughts and the Holy Spirit speaking to
you?
- How can you
distinguish between "deceiving spirits and things taught by
demons" and the Holy Spirit speaking to you?
- Read Matthew 12:31-32. What is blasphemy
against the Holy Spirit? Does it have anything to do confusing the
message of the Holy Spirit with your own thinking or confusing it with
demonic temptation? (To help sort this out, we need to look at the
background.)
- Read Matthew 12:22-24. What was Jesus
talking about when He referred to speaking against the Holy Spirit?
(Jesus is warning those who attribute the work of the Holy Spirit to the
work of Satan.)
- Why would this be an
unforgivable sin? Why would saying bad things about one part of the
Trinity be worse than saying bad things about another part of the
Trinity?
- Read 1 Samuel 3:12-14. God is giving a
message through Samuel to High Priest Eli about Eli's sons, the priests.
Is this yet another example of an unforgivable sin? If so, how many
unforgivable sins exist? (I don't think any per se unforgivable sins
exist. Recall that Eli's sons were in charge of the sanctuary procedure
for the forgiveness of sins. They held the levers of the sin forgiveness
process. Since they had corrupted the process, they could not be
forgiven. The same idea exists with "grieving" the Holy Spirit.
It is an essential part of the sin forgiveness process - it convicts us
of sin. Thus, if we reject the Holy Spirit we have corrupted the process
for the forgiveness of sin.)
- Read Titus 1:15-16. If you corrupt your
conscience, are you slipping into a place where, as a practical matter,
your sin cannot be forgiven because you have corrupted the process?
- Having established
that we can corrupt the Holy Spirit's work, let's go back to our
unresolved issue about how can we distinguish between Holy Spirit
messages coming through our conscience and other messages? (Read again John 16:15. The Holy Spirit
takes His messages from God. Thus, the messages of the Holy Spirit should
line up with the other revealed messages from God - through the Bible,
true prophets and nature.)
- What is your level of
alertness to the messages of the Holy Spirit? Can you hear clearly? Or,
have the messages become barely discernable?
- Friend, we have a God
who wants to communicate His will to us. Will you look for His messages
and conform your life to them? Will you listen for the Holy Spirit and be
open to His leading?

4月29日 Devem Todos os Cristãos Unir-se Com os Católicos?

Desde o alvorecer do novo milênio estamos testemunhando o maior impulso rumo à unidade ecumênica que o mundo já viu. A Igreja Católica Romana está freneticamente construindo pontes para todas as denominações cristãs. Mediante os dedicados esforços do Papa João Paulo II, o Vaticano está instando todos os professos cristãos a "voltarem para casa", isto é, Roma. [N.R.: O atual papa, Bento XVI, tem ressaltado a sua intenção de não só prosseguir nos esforços de união dos cristãos que inspiraram seu antecessor, como garante ser esta uma prioridade de seu pontificado].
Diálogos e acordos têm sido iniciados e criados para buscar a unidade mediante crenças comuns. Um exemplo disso é a"Declaração Sobre a Doutrina da Justificação" assinada em 1999 entre luteranos e católicos-romanos. Nessa declaração, Roma emprega palavras equívocas e ambíguas para afirmar a concordância sobre a doutrina da "justificação pela fé somente" enquanto, ao mesmo tempo, conserva o anátema sobre todos quantos crêem nessa doutrina.
Não devemos ser enganados. Roma não alterou sua posição sobre coisas que realmente importam! Em vez disso, continua a tirar vantagem de professos cristãos a que falta o discernimento ou que não se dispõem a lutar por sua fé. A chave para o sucesso desse esforço pela unidade tem sido um compromisso de "amar uns aos outros e tolerar as crenças uns dos outros". A proposta para todos os cristãos ignorarem suas diferenças doutrinárias em favor da unidade passa inteiramente por alto o fato de que os católicos-romanos, ortodoxos e muitas igrejas protestantes pregam um falso evangelho que nega a suficiência de Jesus Cristo e Sua obra redentora completada.
Esse movimento ecumênico tem propiciado terreno fértil para reedificar a torre de Babel religiosa. Multidões estão sendo influenciadas por evangelhos pervertidos, doutrinas de demônios e falsos mestres. Muitos mais estão sendo persuadidos por evangélicos de grande destaque a unirem-se nessa cruzada.
Não é de admirar que a Igreja Católica Romana tenha sido a força propulsora por detrás desse movimento ecumênico. Desde o fim do Concílio Vaticano II em 1965 Roma tem estado cortejando os que outrora chamava de "heréticos" passando a chamá-los de "irmãos separados". Não sendo mais capaz de forçar as pessoas a se submeterem a seus papas sob ameaça de morte e perseguição, o Vaticano mudou sua estratégia para ganhar o mundo. Apresentando uma nova face de amor e preocupação para com esses "irmãos separados", a ICR agora lhes oferece a "plenitude da salvação" mediante o retorno à "única igreja".
Com tantos professos cristãos unindo-se às fileiras ecumênicas, há evidência do espírito do anticristo em operação preparando o terreno para essa religião universal. Impulsionando o movimento estão líderes eclesiásticos que negligenciam advertir suas congregações sobre a grande apostasia e crescente engano durante os últimos dias. Em lugar de os líderes eclesiásticos odiarem tudo quanto é falso, muitos estão tolerando falsas doutrinas e evangelhos falsificados (Salmo 119: 104, 128). Em lugar de líderes eclesiásticos denunciarem as doutrinas prevalencentes e agentes de comprometimento muitos os estão tolerando.

Tragicamente, muitos púlpitos estão também incrivelmente silentes com respeito às numerosas advertências escriturísticas contra o estar em jugo com incrédulos. Como subpastores do rebanho que lhes foi confiado, os pastores devem advertir suas ovelhas dos perigos da unidade ecumênica. Jesus e Seus discípulos nunca toleraram a unidade sem o fundamento da verdade bíblica. Vez após vez líderes religiosos dedicados, com suas próprias agendas, foram vigorosamente repreendidos:
• Jesus não deu as mãos a líderes religiosos que bloqueavam o acesso do reino dos céus aos homens (Mat. 23:13).

"13 Mas ai de vós, escribas e fariseus, hipócritas! porque fechais aos homens o reino dos céus; pois nem vós entrais, nem aos que entrariam permitis entrar."
• Paulo não se uniu aos judaizantes que somente desejavam acrescentar a circuncisão ao evangelho (Gál. 1:6-12).

"6 Estou admirado de que tão depressa estejais desertando daquele que vos chamou na graça de Cristo, para outro evangelho,
7 o qual não é outro; senão que há alguns que vos perturbam e querem perverter o evangelho de Cristo.
8 Mas, ainda que nós mesmos ou um anjo do céu vos pregasse outro evangelho além do que já vos pregamos, seja anátema.
9 Como antes temos dito, assim agora novamente o digo: Se alguém vos pregar outro evangelho além do que já recebestes, seja anátema.
10 Pois busco eu agora o favor dos homens, ou o favor de Deus? ou procuro agradar aos homens? se estivesse ainda agradando aos homens, não seria servo de Cristo.

À luz dessa "nuvem de testemunhas" que se nos apresenta fica-se a admirar por que alguns evangélicos ignoram as lições das Escrituras, abraçando o falso evangelho do catolicismo romano. Seguramente não ignoram seus numerosos anátemas que condenam os cristãos nascidos de novo!
Certamente não são ignorantes dos muitos requisitos adicionais que Roma adicionou ao evangelho de salvação. Poderiam ser tão facilmente persuadidos pela influência mundial da Igreja Católica, sua incrível riqueza, um bilhão de seguidores e um líder que é tão amado por todo o mundo?
Como Nos Proteger em Meio do Engano Religioso Que Prevalece no Mundo Moderno?
Como devem os cristãos proteger-se em meio ao engano religioso que é tão prevalecente no mundo moderno? A Bíblia nos exorta a provar todo ensino. Somos advertidos a não crer em todo espírito porque muitos falsos profetas estão pelo mundo. É somente pela Palavra de Deus que podemos conhecer o Espírito da Verdade e o espírito do erro (1 João 4:1, 6). Devemos ser como os bereanos que examinavam as Escrituras diariamente para verificar a veracidade dos ensinos do apóstolo Paulo (Atos 17:11). Se Paulo, que escreveu quase metade do Novo Testamento, foi provado, torna-se patente que todo sacerdote, papa, profeta ou pregador devia ser também examinado à luz da Santa Palavra de Deus.
1 João 4:1, 6
"1 Amados, não creiais a todo espírito, mas provai se os espíritos vêm de Deus; porque muitos falsos profetas têm saído pelo mundo.
6 Nós somos de Deus; quem conhece a Deus nos ouve; quem não é de Deus não nos ouve. assim é que conhecemos o espírito da verdade e o espírito do erro."
Atos 17:11
"11 Ora, estes eram mais nobres do que os de Tessalônica, porque receberam a palavra com toda avidez, examinando diariamente as Escrituras para ver se estas coisas eram assim."
Então, o que devemos fazer com os falsos mestres dentro da cristandade? Não devemos compartilhar de seus esforços mas expor seus falsos ensinos (Efés. 5:6, 11). Com delicadeza devemos corrigir aqueles que estão em erro na esperança de que Deus possa conceder-lhes o arrependimento e conduzi-los à verdade (2 Tim. 2:25,26). Os que professam "conhecer a Deus, mas os seus atos o negam" devem ser denunciados e silenciados de modo a que outros não sejam enganados (Tito 1:9-16). Os que não ouvirem ao ensino apostólico não são de Deus. Temos ordens de nos separar daqueles que persistem com falsos ensinos (Romanos 16:17; Tito 3:10). Para alguns, isso pode significar encontrar outra Igreja; para outros, pode significar interromper o apoio a ministérios que continuam a comprometer o evangelho.

Ao aumentarem os enganos dos tempos finais e mais e mais pessoas serem levadas à apostasia, devemos combater fervorosamente pela fé uma vez confiada aos santos (Judas 3). Na medida em que maiores contingentes de líderes cristãos buscarem a aprovação dos homens em lugar da de Deus, o caminho da verdade se tornará mais estreito e menos percorrido. Os que permanecerem fiéis serão perseguidos por se recusarem a comprometer-se (2 Timóteo 2:12). Serão acusados de intolerância, falta de amor e mente estreita. Mas sempre devemos ter em mente as advertências dos apóstolos--se não nos separarmos dos falsos mestres podemos desqualificar-nos para o serviço (2 Timóteo 2:20), identificando-nos com eles em seu erro (2 João 10, 11), ou arricar-nos a participar de seu destino (Judas 11-13).

Na medida em que líderes eclesiásticos continuarem a ensinar verdades parciais e tolerarem o erro doutrinário o corpo de Cristo deve tomar providências. Precisamos evitar a repreensão que Paulo fez à igreja dos coríntios. Ele escreveu: (2 Cor. 11:3-4)

"Mas receio que, assim como a serpente enganou a Eva com a sua astúcia, assim também sejam corrompidas as vossas mentes, e se apartem da simplicidade e pureza devidas a Cristo. Se, na verdade, vindo alguém prega outro Jesus que não temos pregado, ou se aceitais espírito diferente que não tendes recebido, ou evangelho diferente que não temos abraçado, a esses de boa mente o tolerais"
Ao crescer em popularidade o movimento ecumênico dentro da igreja, precisamos aceitar o fato de que militar pela pureza doutrinária será uma posição impopular a assumir. Contudo, é de fato o que somos chamados a fazer! Ao assinalarmos falsas doutrinas e práticas seremos bons servos de Cristo Jesus pois somos nutridos por Sua palavra e sã doutrina (1 Timóteo 4:6). Sustentar a verdade pode, e será, divisivo na Igreja, mas a divisão lhe é às vezes boa. Ocasionalmente é necessário mostrar quais são os aprovados por Deus (1 Coríntios 11:19).

"6 Propondo estas coisas aos irmãos, serás bom ministro de Cristo Jesus, nutrido pelas palavras da fé e da boa doutrina que tens seguido;
7 mas rejeita as fábulas profanas e de velhas. Exercita-te a ti mesmo na piedade."
1 Coríntios 11:19
"19 E até importa que haja entre vós facções, para que os aprovados se tornem manifestos entre vós."
Os que se batem pela pureza do evangelho são freqüentemente criticados por criarem caso por coisas que não parecem significativas. Contudo, os militantes pela fé reconhecem que a mentira mais perigosa é aquela que mais de perto parece ser verdade. Ao contrário disso, os ecumenistas consideram qualquer coisa que tenha aparência de verdade como uma oportunidade para a unidade. Assim, acatam o falso evangelho do catolicismo porque é a mais sutil de todas as contrafações.
Nestes dias de apostasia, o corpo de Cristo precisa ousada e corajosamente proclamar todo o conselho de Deus e denunciar como erro tudo quanto a ele se oponha. Que Deus conceda a todos os Seus servos a graça, poder, discernimento e coragem para serem combatentes pela fé.
O Mundo Que Há de Vir
"Pois não foi a anjos que sujeitou o mundo que há de vir, sobre o qual estamos falando." Hebreus 2:5
A expressão "ecumenismo" deriva da palavra grega oikoumene que é traduzida na Bíblia como "mundo habitado" ou "terra habitada". No verso acima aparece como "mundo que há de vir". O verdadeiro ecumenismo é aquele que promove os princípios do "mundo que há de vir". Estaria o atual movimento ecumênico de igrejas em conformidade com aquilo que a Revelação aponta como princípios do reino vindouro?
Embora o Vaticano venha enfatizando o "escândalo da divisão" do cristianismo desde o Concílio Vaticano II, e promovendo o diálogo com as várias denominações cristãs "separadas"de Roma, e também com as religiões pagãs orientais, essa mesma postura de contemporização e relativismo tem afastado igrejas e grupos cristãos mais conservadores. E há razões de sobra que justificam essa atitude de cautela ou mesmo condenação:
1. De acordo com o autor Bert Beverly Beach, "o quadro escatológico da igreja de Deus antes da segunda vinda não é o de uma megaigreja reunindo toda a humanidade, mas o de um 'remanescente' da cristandade, aqueles que guardam os mandamentos de Deus e têm a fé de Jesus (Apocalipse 14:12)".

"12 Aqui está a perseverança dos santos, daqueles que guardam os mandamentos de Deus e a fé em Jesus."
2. O movimento ecumênico tem dado mais importância à moralidade social do que à santificação pessoal. É uma espécie de coletivismo religioso, onde o consenso coletivo tem muito mais valor do que a consciência e a piedade pessoal. Isso é um sério problema para a verdadeira fé cristã já que, segundo o fundador do cristianismo, o passaporte para o "mundo que há de vir" é o arrependimento (que pressupõe mudança de atitude diante de Deus e conformidade com as verdades bíblicas): "Arrependei-vos, porque está próximo o reino dos céus." Mateus 4:17.

3. O pluralismo de idéias dentro do ecumenismo também é um fator complicador. Debaixo do guarda-chuva ecumênico se abrigam não só os defensores da teologia liberal, que vão desde os que não consideram o texto bíblico normativo e dotado de autoridade, até os que acreditam na revelação proposicional (a inspiração não está no texto, mas na experiência do leitor), como também aqueles provenientes das religiões orientais, com seus conceitos pagãos, o que contraria abertamente a mensagem cristã: "Não vos ponhais em jugo desigual com os incrédulos; porquanto que sociedade pode haver entre a justiça e a iniqüidade? Ou que comunhão da luz com as trevas?... Retirai-vos do meio deles, separai-vos, diz o Senhor." II Coríntios 6:14 - 18. Nas palavras de Bert B. Beach, "a separação e a divisão a fim de proteger e preservar a pureza e a integridade da igreja e sua mensagem são mais desejáveis do que a unidade em mundanismo e erro". A verdade é uma só: "Andarão dois juntos, se não houver entre eles acordo?" Amós 3:3.

"14 Não vos prendais a um jugo desigual com os incrédulos; pois que sociedade tem a justiça com a injustiça? ou que comunhão tem a luz com as trevas?
15 Que harmonia há entre Cristo e Belial? ou que parte tem o crente com o incrédulo?
16 E que consenso tem o santuário de Deus com ídolos? Pois nós somos santuário de Deus vivo, como Deus disse: Neles habitarei, e entre eles andarei; e eu serei o seu Deus e eles serão o meu povo.
17 Pelo que, saí vós do meio deles e separai-vos, diz o Senhor; e não toqueis coisa imunda, e eu vos receberei;
18 e eu serei para vós Pai, e vós sereis para mim filhos e filhas, diz o Senhor Todo-Poderoso."
Amós 3:3.
"3 Acaso andarão dois juntos, se não estiverem de acordo?
13 Ouvi, e protestai contra a casa de Jacó, diz o Senhor Deus, o Deus dos exércitos:
14 Pois no dia em que eu punir as transgressões de Israel, também castigarei os altares de Betel; e as pontas do altar serão cortadas, e cairão por terra.
15 Derribarei a casa de inverno juntamente com a casa de verão; as casas de marfim perecerão, e as grandes casas terão fim, diz o Senhor."
4. Michael Urban, autor evangélico conservador (apesar de ser dispensacionalista – acredita que as profecias apocalípticas vão se cumprir com a nação de Israel literal –, seu pensamento sobre o ecumenismo é relevante), afirma que o problema maior para os cristãos com o ecumenismo é que, na verdade, este movimento pretende criar uma nova visão de mundo e uma nova idéia sobre Deus que abrangerá todas religiões. Em outras palavras, o Jesus pregado pelos cristãos tem que dar lugar a um Deus que seja comum a todas as religiões, incluindo as de cunho pagão.
5. Segundo o mesmo autor, a arma eficaz usada pelo movimento ecumênico é a sedução. Aparência de piedade, mas o espírito continua totalmente anticristão. Fato comprovado ao verificarmos as várias frases de impacto usadas pelos seus defensores: "a doutrina separa, a oração une", "devemos construir pontes e não muros" e "unidade no que é relevante, liberdade no que é secundário e, acima de tudo, o amor". Todas essas frases de impacto escondem conceitos antibíblicos. "A doutrina separa, a oração une": a doutrina é encarada como um obstáculo, e a separação que ela pode trazer como indesejável. Porém, Jesus mesmo foi quem previu: "Não penseis que vim trazer paz à terra; não vim trazer paz, mas espada. Pois vim causar divisão entre o homem e seu pai; entre sua filha e sua mãe e entre a nora e sua sogra." Mateus 10:34 e 35. A doutrina também tem um lugar de destaque na fé cristã:"Todo aquele que ultrapassa a doutrina de Cristo e nela não permanece não tem Deus; o que permanece na doutrina, esse tem tanto o Pai quanto o Filho." II João 1:9. Urban conclui: "Como podemos unir em oração aquilo que Deus separou?"
6. "Unidade no que é relevante, liberdade no que é secundário e, acima de tudo, o amor": Porventura, há na mensagem bíblica aspectos secundários? Ou será que tudo que foi escrito para nosso proveito é que foi escrito? Se há aspectos secundários, quem deve determinar o que é secundário? Esvaziar a mensagem bíblica do seu todo orgânico é uma armadilha por detrás dos pressupostos ecumênicos.
Graças a Deus, há muitos cristãos conservadores que não se deixarão seduzir pela aparência de piedade destituída de poder.
"Sabe, porém, isto: nos últimos dias, sobrevirão tempos difíceis, pois os homens... tendo forma de piedade, negando-lhe, entretanto, o poder. Foge também destes." II Timóteo 3:1, 2 e 5.

Every newsletter generates a variety of comments which offer e insights into the different reactions of our readers. The last ewsletter (No. 76) on the latest attack against the Sabbath was no exception. The many comments and reactions received can be broadly divided into three groups. The first group of comments from about 200 readers, express ppreciation for my efforts to refute some of the arguments used by Pastor Taylor and most Evangelicals to negate the continuity and validity of the Sabbath for today. A good number of Bible teachers from different parts of the world who received the last newsletter No. 76) from friends, subscribed immediately because they want to hare these studies with their students. Several pastors also informed me that they are eager to receive my response to the latest anti-Sabbath attacks, because they are facing the same challenge with some members of their congregation. These encouraging messages motivate me to put forth my best efforts in producing these Bible studies.

03 - Especificaly about the Sabbath in Colossians 2-16

Paul’s reference to the observance of the “Sabbath” in Colossians 2:16 is only one aspect of the “Colossian heresy” refuted by Paul. It is necessary, therefore, to ascertain first of all the overall nature of the false teachings that threatened to “disqualify” (Col. 2:18) the Colossian believers. Were these teachings Mosaic ordinances and can they be identified with the “written document—cheirographon which God through Christ ‘wiped out . . . removed, nailed to the cross” (Col. 2:14)?
Most commentators define the Colossian heresy as syncretistic teachings which incorporated both Hellenistic and Jewish elements. Such a false teaching had both a theological and practical aspect.

04 - I - DUALISM AND CONSCIOUS LIFE AFTER DEATH

The belief in conscious life after death is spreading today like wildfire. Such a popular belief derives from a dualistic understanding of the make up of human nature. Historically, the vast majority of Christians have believed and still believe today that human nature is dualistic, consisting of a material, mortal body, and an immaterial, immortal soul. At death, the soul allegedly detaches herself from the body and survives in a disembodied state, either in the bliss of Paradise or in the torment of Hell. This means that the first step in analyzing from a Biblical perspective the popular belief in conscious disembodied life after death, is to study what does the Bible teches us regarding the make up of human nature. This will be the focus of our attention for in the next two essays.

Throughout human history, people have refused to accept the finality that death brings to life. Death brings an unacceptable, sudden interruption to one's work, plans, and relationships. Though the inscription on many tomb stones often reads "Rest in Peace," the truth of the matter is that most people do not welcome the peaceful rest of the grave. They would rather be alive and productive.
Thus, it is not surprising that the subject of death and afterlife always has been a matter of intense concern and speculation. After all, the death rate is still one per person. Each of us at the appointed time will face the grim reality of death.

06 - HELL: ETERNAL TORMENT OR ANNIHILATION?

Few teachings have troubled the human conscience over the centuries more than the traditional view of hell as a place where the lost suffer conscious fiery punishment in body and soul for all eternity.
The prospect that one day a vast number of people will be consigned to everlasting torment of Hell is most disturbing and distressing to sensitive Christians. After all, almost everyone has friends or family members who have died without making a commitment to Christ. The prospect of one day seeing them agonizing in Hell for all eternity can easily lead thinking people to say to God: "No thank you God. I am not interested in Your kind of paradise!"

The last newsletter "Reflections on Terrorism" (No. 75) generated an unusual number of responses from different parts of the world. Some editors requested permission to publish portions of the essay. It was encouraging for me to read your gracious messages.

Does the Watchtower Society have any moral authority to condemn the religious teachings of “Christendom” through its particular ideas and interpretations? What does the historic record of that organization reveal? Note what the book of that organization, called The Truth That Leads to Eternal Life (quoted in the Guiness Book of World Records as the most translated book in the world), says on page 13:
We need to examine not only what we personally believe, but also what is taught by any religious organization with which we may be associated. Are its teachings in full harmony with God’s Word, or are they based on the traditions of men? If we are lovers of the truth, there is nothing to fear from such an examinaiton. (emphasis supplied).

Since the dawn of the new millennium we are witnessing the greatest push toward ecumenical unity the world has ever seen. The Roman Catholic Church is fervently building bridges to all Christian denominations. Through the dedicated efforts of Pope John Paul II, the Vatican is urging all professing Christians to return home to Rome. Dialogues and accords have been initiated and created to seek unity through common beliefs. An example of this is the 1999 Lutheran-Roman Catholic "Joint Declaration on the Doctrine of Justification." In the declaration, Rome uses equivocal and ambiguous words to affirm agreement on the doctrine of "justification by faith alone." but, at the same time, continues the anathema’s on all whom believe this doctrine. We must not be misled. Rome has not changed its position on things that really matter! Instead they continue to take advantage of professing Christians who lack discernment or who are unwilling to contend for "the faith."

The best-selling book Left Behind? which has inspired the newly released (February 2, 2001) multimillion dollars movie by the same title, reminds me of a conversation between a preacher and an actor. The preacher asked the actor: "Please explain to me, Why is it that the people are ecstatic when you talk about fiction, but they fall asleep when I proclaim biblical truths?" The actor responded: "The secret is that I talk about fiction as if it were truth, while you preach about truth as if it were fiction."
There is no question that Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins have done a masterful job in making people believe that their fictitious novel about the sudden vanishing away into thin air of million of Christians, is biblical truth. A major reason for their success is that their fiction is based upon what most Evangelical Christians have been taught to believe as truth, namely, that soon believing Christians will be secretly and suddenly snatch away from this earth, leaving behind a mass of unbelieving Jews and unconverted people, who will have to go through the worst Tribulation this world has ever seen.

Often people ask me for a simple, concise summary of the findings of my investigation on how the Sabbath was changed to Sunday in the early church during my five-year period of doctoral studies at the Pontifical Gregorian University, of Rome, Italy. 16 - The Rapture: Fiction Or Fact?

Many sincere Christians believe that Christ's Second Coming will occur in two distinct phases. The first phase is known as the "secret rapture" of the Church and can happen at any moment. At this time Christ comes down only partway to the earth to resurrect the sleeping saints and to transform and glorify living believers. Both groups are then raptured, that is, snatched away secretly, suddenly, and invisibly, to meet the descending Lord in the air. This body of believers, called the "Church," will then go up to heaven to celebrate with Christ for seven years the marriage feast of the Lamb, while Jews and unconverted Gentiles will stay on this earth to suffer the final seven years tribulation.
At the end of this seven-year period, the second phase of Christ's Coming, generally called the Return or the Revelation, will occur. Christ then comes in glory with the saints all the way down to the earth to destroy His enemies in the Battle or Armageddon, to set up His throne in Jerusalem and to begin His millennial terrestrial reign.
How soon is the mass disappearance of millions of true Christians from every nation supposed to occur? Many believe that this event is imminent because its main precondition, namely the re-establishment of the State of Israel and the repossession of ancient Jerusalem, have already taken place. This belief is expressed on bumper stickers like the one that warns: "If the driver disappears, grab the wheel."

An antinomian is somebody that is against the law, who says that it was abolished by Jesus, either during His ministry or by His death on the cross. And that would involve all the commandments, the moral (or the Ten Commandments) and the ceremonial ones. They teach that the Decalogue would have ended with the death of the Savior along with the old covenant and all the ritual stipulations of the Jews (the ceremonial law).
Such people are engaged in a tremendous effort to get rid of the obligation to fulfill the Ten Commandments, teaching that such law, base of God’s covenant with His people of Israel in the past, doesn’t apply the Christians any longer. In place of this law, there remains now to the Christian people something like a “law of Christ”, in the “new dispensation”, a series of recommendations and principles that are spread throughout the New Testament, with nothing to do with codes and enumerated rules.

In v. 6 those who heard the disciples preach, heard them in their “own language”. Besides, it’s clear that in Acts 2 the tongues were designed to be an effective means of communication to those who were visiting Jerusalem for the Pentecost’s feast. They think that the wording in the text makes clear that the condemned man on the cross by that where Christ died, who expressed repentance and faith in Him, was offered by the Savior being with Him on that same day on Paradise.

Thus, it is made very clear that it was not a rule limited to the people of Israel, attached to the mosaic law.

Because the apostle Paul wouldn’t absolutely contradict the divine law which he recognized as valid and in force, as he exalted it as holy, just, good, spiritual, pleasurable and deign to have in mind, according also to what the psalmist had said: “the law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul” (Romans 3:31; 7:12, 14, 22, 25; Psalm 19:7). And besides exalting the divine law, Paul recommended its faithful observance and utilization in a legitimate form (Rom. 13:8-10; Eph. 6:1-3; 1 Cor. 9:17; 1 Tim. 1:8).
Because Paul knew that “the Sabbath was made for man” (Mar. 2:27), for his physical and spiritual benefit since creation (Gen. 2:2, 3; Exo. 20:8-11), and being himself a man, it applied to him also. The Apostle would never have any intention to get rid of something that God established, and knew he didn’t have authority to cancel anything from the divine law.

No Command of Christ or of the Apostles. There is no commandment of Christ or of the apostles regarding a weekly-Sunday or annual Easter-Sunday celebration of Christ's resurrection. We have commands in the New Testament regarding baptism (Matt 28:19-20), the Lord's Supper (Mark 14:24-25; 1 Cor 11:23-26) and foot-washing (John 13:14-15), but we find no commands or even suggestions to commemorate Christ's Resurrection on a weekly Sunday or annual Easter-Sunday.
Since Sunday would be a “novelty”, a new principle of worship, especially as it would be the substitution of such an inbred tradition in the national and religious culture of the Jewish people, as was the case of the Sabbath, any change in that practice would undoubtedly prompt commentaries, specific instructions justifying the alterations, particularly as the first converts to the Christian religion proceeded from Judaism and were “zealous of the law”(Acts 21:20). However, nothing is found in the whole New Testament concerning such change, nor any debates discussing the subject.

Because everlasting life is a gift from God (Rom. 6:23) that the unsaved don’t possess; on the contrary, they “shall not see life” (John 3:36); “no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him” (1 John 3:15).
Note: Paul says in Romans 2:7 that those who will obtain life eternal are the ones who look for immortality. We don’t go after something that we already possess.
Because the eternal torment would perpetuate and immortalize sin, suffering, pain, and that contradicts the divine revelation that those things will no more exist under the new conditions after Jesus’ return (Rev. 2:14).
Because the universe would always keep a dark site, with billions of creatures living eternally in unending torments, with their existences thus preserved by God Himself, in Whom “we live, and move, and have our being” (Acts 17:28).
